Pray the Scriptures, May 31
Ezekiel 43:13-44:31
Sovereign Lord,
I thank you this day, on behalf of myself and ______________________ , that you have made us a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a people belonging to you. May we declare your praises, the one who called us out of darkness into your wonderful light. As your priests, show us how to come near to you and fellowship with you in your presence.
May we look carefully, listen closely, and give attention to everything you tell us so that we may carry out our duty in regard to your holy things. Circumcise us in heart, and keep us from putting others in charge of those things you want us to do. Check us whenever we are inclined to wander from you, so that we may not have to bear the shame and consequences of such sin.
Instead, by your Spirit, may we faithfully carry out the duties you have assigned to us, even if others do not. May we come near to you to minister before you, and stand in your presence. By your grace, I pray that we will be able to enter into the reward and privilege you grant to those who are faithful.
Be our inheritance and our possession. Prompt us to give generously, of the first portion of our resources, so that a blessing may rest on our households. Teach us the difference between the holy and the common, so that we may know and be able to show others how to distinguish between what is unclean and clean in your sight. I pray that your glory will fill us, your church, and our land.
In Jesus’ name, we ask these things, amen.
