Pray the Scriptures, June 24

Nehemiah 7

Lord God,

I pray for myself and for ______________________ , that you will, by your Spirit, make each of us a man and woman of integrity who fears you more than most men do. May we be qualified by character to be put in charge of important responsibilities in your kingdom.

I pray that, by your help, each of us will be faithful, someone who is dependable. reliable, and trustworthy, someone you and those around us can depend on. I pray that you will develop in us a deeper reverential fear and regard for you.

Just as you did with Nehemiah, so I pray that you will put into our hearts those things you want us to do to complete the tasks you have given to us.

We ask you for leaders over our city and nation who have the character of Hanani, who was put in charge of Jerusalem. May we have political leaders at every level who are men of integrity and fear you more than most men do. Put into their hearts your plans and purposes for our city and for our land.

In the name of Jesus, we ask you to make the families of this city and nation strong. May the heads of our families contribute to the welfare of our city and nation. By your grace, may we be able to settle here and live in peace.

We pray all this in the name of Jesus, amen.
