Pray the Scriptures, June 16

Lord God of heaven,

I pray that your hand will be on us to shield us from harm. Show us when we are to fast and humble ourselves before you to seek your help and your protection for us, our families, and our possessions. I pray that you will answer our prayer when we petition you about these things.

You teach us here that your gracious hand is on everyone who looks to you, but your great anger is against all who forsake you. May we as a nation be a people who look to you this day and every day. May your gracious hand be on us to protect us from our enemies and to give us the assistance we need to do your will.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
