Pray the Scriptures, July 11
Psalm 103
Lord God Almighty,
My soul and all that is within me blesses you and your holy name. You have established your throne in the heavens, and your kingdom rules over all. May the angels, the mighty ones who do your bidding and obey the voice of your word, bless you. May all your works bless you in all the places of your dominion.
We do not forget all your benefits. You forgive all our iniquity and heal all our diseases. You redeem our lives from the pit and crown us with steadfast love and mercy. You satisfy us with good things, so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
You work righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed, and you have made your ways and your acts known to us. You are merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. You will not always accuse, nor keep your anger forever. You do not deal with us according to our sins, or repay us according to our iniquities.
As high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is your steadfast love toward us who fear you. As far as the east is from the west, so far have you removed our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so you show compassion to those who fear you.
You know our frame and remember that we are dust. Our days are like grass – we flourish like a flower of the field until the wind passes over it and it is gone. But your steadfast love is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear you. Your righteousness will be with our children’s children, and to all who keep your covenant and remember to do your commandments. My soul blesses you, O Lord. Amen.
