Pray the Scriptures, February 17
Luke 11:1-13
Heavenly Father,
I pray that you will teach us to pray to you as your Son did. I ask you to stir up in each one of us a desire for prayer and a desire to learn more about prayer. May your Spirit often prompt us to pray that your name would be regarded as a holy thing in our own lives and in our entire culture.
I pray that we will ask you each day to cause your kingdom to come and be manifest on this earth. May we trust you each day to provide for our material needs by giving us our daily bread. Please forgive us our sins, and prompt us each day to forgive everyone who sins against us. You know our limitations, and so I pray that you will not lead us into temptation but instead deliver us from evil in all its forms.
Teach us boldness in prayer that we may come to believe that you will give us as much as we need in response to persistent prayer. Instead of giving up in prayer, may we persistently ask, persistently seek, and persistently knock. I claim your promise for us that everyone who asks receives; that everyone who seeks finds; and that to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Father, we love our children, and even though we have a bent toward evil, we know how to give good gifts to them. I pray that you, as a holy and righteous Father, will give to us the good gift of the Holy Spirit in abundant measure when we ask.
I pray this in the name of your Son, amen.

I just had a total right hip replacement. I'm in the hospital now overnight and felt the Holy Spirit nudge me to seek out this message to pray out loud in my hospital room in worship to our truly one and only great and wonderful God who does answer prayer to those who seek him. Thank you Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior for your love for me. I will forever be grateful. Amen.....
