Pray the Scriptures, 9/6/22 - Proverbs 17-18

Passage: Proverbs 17-18

Verse: “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” ~ Proverbs 18:10

Prayer:

Sovereign Lord,

I ask in Jesus’ name that you will work in the heart of ______________________ and in my heart so that we will be men and women of discernment who acquire knowledge and whose ears seek out wisdom. Keep us from the pride that comes before a man's downfall; instead may we possess the humility that comes before honor.

I pray that we will learn to promote love in our relationships by covering over offenses rather than repeating them to others. You tell us that an offended brother is more unyielding than a fortified city, so please keep us from hurting our brothers. May each of us be a friend who loves at all times and be a brother born to help others in their adversity.
